Jatiyo Sangsad Bhaban is the National Assembly Building of Bangladesh. Located in Shere Bangla Nagar, Dhaka, this is one of the most famous architectural examples in the world. The work for building this assembly initially started in 1961 and was completed in 1961. Muzharul Islam was given to design Jatiyo Sangshad Bhaban but he involved his teacher Louis Kahn who became the main architect for this mind-blowing project. The building has gross are of 800000 square meters and the blocks divided into 3 main parts. The Main Plaza, South Plaza and president Plaza. The main and most important part of the Main Plaza is the Parliament Chamber, which can house up to 354 members during sessions which makes Jatiyo Sangsad Bhaban, one of the biggest legislative buildings in the world. Louis Kahn designed the entire Jatiyo Sangsad complex, which includes lawns, lake and residences for the Members of the Parliament. This building is not only a building where legislations are passed it is also a building that attracts so many local and foreign visitors every year. Jatiyo Sangsad Bhaban is truly an iconic example of modern architecture. |
