Banks in Bangladesh

There are many banks in Bangladesh. Bangladeshi financial sector is dominated by private commercial banks. As many as 40 private, 9 multinational and 4 nationalised commercial banks operates within the financial sector in Bangladesh. Bangladesh Bank is the central Bank of Bangladesh it carries out the financial regulatory service in Bangladeshi Banking system. Beside commercial banks in Bangladesh, there are a few specialised banks concentrated to meet the special needs and demand for agricultural and industrial development.
